Bhubaneswar: The Puri district administration has issued a detailed crowd mobility plan and traffic advisory for the Snana Jatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra at Srimandir on June 22 (Saturday).
As per the crowd mobility plan, devotees will be allowed to enter Jagannath temple through the Lions’ Gate and exit through the other three gates of the shrine on the occasion of Debasnana Purnima on June 22.
The district administration has erected barricades on the Grand Road to regulate crowd on the occasion.
The devotees have been advised to enter the barricades near the Market Square on the Grand Road at Puri town during the mega event.
The devotees will be allowed to visit the Jagannath temple though the Lions’ Gate after proper frisking by the security personnel deployed near the shrine.
As per the plan, the ticket holder devotees will be allowed to enter the temple through the South Gate. However, the entry through the South Gate of the shrine will be stopped after the completion of the Pahandi ritual.
Details of the Traffic Advisory:
- There will be no restriction of regular passenger buses from Bhubaneswar/Konark side to enter into the regular municipality bus stand at Puri town.
- Puri town shuttle buses/auto-rickshaw will be allowed up to Medical Square on the Grand Road.
- Protocol vehicles will be allowed up to Gadadhar High School to avail the parking facilities.
- Light motor vehicles (LMVs) coming from Bhubaneswar side will be diverted from Harekrushnapur Square towards the Srisetu to avail parking facilities at Jagannath Ballav.
- Once Jagannath Ballav is filled, the LMVs will be allowed to move towards Atharanala to avail parking facilities at Jail Road.
- LMVs coming from Brahmagiri side will be diverted at Manganlaghat Square to avail parking facilities at Yatrika, Blue Flag beach and Hotel Nilachala Ashok.
- LMVs coming from Konark side will be diverted from Grid Station Square to avail parking facilities at Blue Flag beach and Hotel Nilachala Ashok.
- Two-wheelers will be parked at the eastern side of the Grand Road from Medical Square to Nayak Plaza. After the area is filled, the two-wheelers will be diverted towards Jail Road and Saradhabali.
- The immediate surroundings of the temple as well as the stretch between the Market Square and Jaga Balia lodge on the Grand Road will be declared as the no-vehicle zone.
- The traffic regulation will come to force at 10 pm on June 21 and continue till the completion of the Debasnana Purnima ritual of the deities.
