Affected by COVID-19 restrictions, vendors dump vegetables on road in Odisha

Jharsuguda: Being unable to sell vegetables in market in Odisha’s Jharsuguda town due to COVID-19 restrictions, affected vendors and farmers today protested by dumping vegetables in huge quantities on road.

The district administration has ordered for closure of the vegetable market near the bus stand here as a part of measures to contain the spread of the virus. The traders and farmers who were dependent on the market for selling vegetables are being affected due to the move of the administration.

They alleged that the administration has not facilitated alternate places for them for selling vegetables, for which they are facing financial losses.
