After 3 COVID deaths, this Odisha village declared containment zone
Berhampur: After three COVID-19 patients in Jahada Gram Panchayat of Ganjam district died of the virus recently, Sarpanch of the GP using the special power of Collector announced Jahada village as containment zone for six days.
The containment which came into effect at 1 PM today will remain in force till 1 PM on July 2, said Sarpanch Sulata Behera.
Worth mentioning, Dharakote Panchyat Samiti vice-chairman and two others have succumbed to the virus in last couple of days.
Meanwhile, the Ganjam Collectorate refuted the reports of three deaths due to COVID-19 in Jahada panchayat in Dharakote. In a tweet, the Ganjam Collector said there is only one COVID death in the panchayat and the reports of three deaths are rumour.
