After 3 months’ salary, Odisha MP Achyuta Samanta pledges Rs 2.5 Cr MPLAD funds for COVID-19

Bhubaneswar:  After donating his three months’ salary, Kandhamal MP and founder of KIIT and KISS Achyuta Samanta has pledged Rs 2.5 crore from his MPLAD funds to support the state Government’s efforts in battle against coronavirus.

In a letter, the BJD MP urged Kandhamal Collector for one-time dispensation of Rs 2.50 crore from his MPLAD funds for urchase of testing and screening kit and other medical equipment for the districts of Kandhamal, Boudh, Ganjam and Nayagarh to bolster the fight against global pandemic of COVIID-19.

Of the total funds,  Rs 110 lakh will be spent for Kandhamal district, Rs 70 lakh  for Boudh, Rs 35 lakh each for Ganjam and Nayagarh districts.

The Lok Sabha member urged the Collector to take immediate action in  this regard.
