Bhubaneswar: Here is another sad news for wildlife lovers as a Royal Bengal tiger died at Nandankanan Zoological Park on city's outskirts today following death of a bear at the zoo.
The 8-year-old Royal Bengal tiger 'Manish' died of illness at Nandankanan, the zoo authorities said.
The big cat was suffering from blood protozoan disease, a tick-borne infection, for the past six months.
With death of the tiger, the zoo has only 10 male tigers and 14 tigresses.
Earlier in the day, a black bear called 'Banki' had died of age related sickness. The wild animal was 30-year-old.
