After Delhi, Muktikanta launches Padayatra to Odisha Capital. Here’s why

Bhubaneswar: Muktikanta Biswal, who made headlines by walking around 1,550 km to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has embarked on another Padayatra from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to pitch for various demands.

Speaking to Media, Muktikanta said he would meet the CM and demand for upgradation of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) into a super specialty hospital and steps for construction of the second bridge over river Brahmani in Rourkela.

“I would meet the CM and some BJD leaders to raise various demands, including super specialty hospital status to IGH. I would also discuss about pending projects in Rourkela,” he said.

It may be mentioned here that Biswal had walked for over 70 days and reached Delhi on June 27 to remind the Prime Minister of his promises made on April 1, 2015 regarding fulfillment of the above two demands.

He had also staged a hunger strike at Ramlila Maidan and later at Jagannath Temple, Hauz Khas after he failed to meet the Prime Minister despite repeated attempts.
