After Jaga-Kalia, another conjoined twins born in Odisha

Dhenkanal: After successful separation surgery of Jaga-Kalia, another conjoined twins were born in Odisha giving surprise to their parents today.

A woman namely Renubala Behera, wife of Pradip Behera and resident of Khalpal village under Parjang block, delivered the twin baby girls, who are attached at heart and stomach, at the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

The newborn twins are stated to be in good condition. However, they have been referred to Sishu Bhawan, Cuttack, for further treatment.

“My twin babies were born joined at heart and stomach this morning. My wife had undergone ultrasound here at the hospital last month, but the doctors had not disclosed us about test report,” said Pradip, the twin babies’ father.

Notably, the couple has already a son. Behera’s wife was admitted to the district hospital in the morning following labour pain.

Two years ago, conjoined twins Jaga-Kalia, attached at head, were successfully separated at AIIMS in New Delhi. They are now undergoing post-surgery treatment at country’s premier medical institution.
