After Odisha govt warning, admissions start at Hi-Tech Medical College

Bhubaneswar: Two days after the Odisha government warned Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital of stern action, the private college bowed to pressure.

The Bhubaneswar-based medical college resumed admission process for the academic year 2019-20 today where as many as five students enrolled in the MBBS course.

Notably, the government had warned to cancel the NOC (No objection certificate) of the college if such incident is reported again.

The institute reportedly sought Rs 11 lakh for admission into various undergraduate courses, in violation of the OJEE guidelines. As per government fee structure, a student is supposed to pay Rs 6.5 lakh per year.

The parents’ association knocked on the doors of the Health department for immediate intervention.

Worth mentioning, the admission will be done in 45 MBBS and five BDS seats for this academic year.
