Again Patitapaban bana of Jagannath temple snaps off in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Yet again the holy flag ‘Patitapaban bana’ of centuries old Jagannath temple snapped off Nilachakra (metal wheel) here this morning.

As other flags tied to the Nilachakra remained unaffected, the daily rituals of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and goddess Subhadra were not changed after the incident.

However, the devotees believed that incident could be considered as an ominous because the flag snapped off on the occasion of Mahastamee puja of goddess Bimala during Durga puja on temple premises.

It was for the second time the holy flag snapped off in a month.

Earlier, the patitapaban bana snapped off Nilachakra on Srimandir on Sept 8.
