AI detects irregularities in conduct of Odisha Matric Exams 2024; action initiated

Bhubaneswar: Several irregularities were noticed during the conduct of Odisha Matric Exams 2024 on the second day today when CCTV footage was verified after receiving alarms of AI, which has been installed by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Cuttack for the first time this year.

According to a source, the districts where irregularities were found are Cuttack, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Puri, and Nayagarh. Board has intimated to the competent authorities i.e. Director of Secondary Education-Odisha and Cuttack Superintendent of Police (SP) to take action against the erring officials and personnel, who were engaged in the conduct of examinations.

Upon the intimation, the Director of Secondary Education has ordered district education officers (DEOs) concerned to take necessary disciplinary action against the wrongdoers.

Notably, in Cuttack district, an invigilator was not active enough to disallow cross-talking by the students and a lady police official entered into the examination room without any reason in A.N. High School of Narasinghpur. An unauthorised person was detected at the outside window of one of the examination rooms at Kanpur Girls’ High School. An invigilator was not active enough to disallow cross-talking by the students in Chitrotpala Nodal High School of Janardanpur. Prachi Academy located in Adaspur was not functioning strictly as per the instructions of the Board. Especially, the on-duty invigilators were not adhering to the timeline notified by the Board in dispatching the question paper packets.

Similarly, in Kalahandi district, a lady teacher of Jawahar Uccha Bidyapitha in Koksara was found using her mobile phone at 9.17 AM.

Likewise, no invigilator was found to be present in Room No-2 at 10.04 AM in Aurobinda Bidyamandir of Dhenkanal district.

Moreover, on-duty invigilators were not adhering to the timeline notified by the Board in dispatching the question paper packets at Nodal High School in Pipili of Puri district and also at B.C. High School in Ranpur of Nayagarh district, respectively.
