Bhubaneswar: All India Congress Committee (AICC) dissolved Odisha Congress Committee to restructure the party in the state following its debacle in the 2024 elections.
The AICC President approved the proposal of the complete dissolution of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) including the PCC president, officer bearers, executive committee, district/block/mandal congress committees, frontal organisations, departments, and cells with immediate effect, AICC stated in a release today.
However, the current district committee presidents will serve as acting presidents till further orders.
Worth mentioning, Odisha Congress continued to play an opposition role in the state with only 14 Assembly seats in the elections held this year. The party's state unit led by Sarat Pattanayak also failed to show magic in the Lok Sabha poll, retaining only one MP seat from Koraput.
