Bhubaneswar: The Outpatient Department (OPD) of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar will be closed from July 10 until further orders, informed Director Gitanjali Batmanabane today.

"Some patients and staffers of the hospital have tested positive for COVID-19. This apart, some employees are coming from COVID containment zones. In view of the shortage of staffers, we have decided to close the walk-in OPD services until further notice," she said.

However, patients can contact the doctors through telemedicine service. A mobile phone application namely 'AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya' will be launched tomorrow in this regard, she said.

Casualty and emergency services will continue at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, she added.
