Ailing elephant dies at Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary

Angul: In an unfortunate incident, a female elephant at Satkosia Wildlife Sanctuary in Angul district died following illness today.

As per repots, few forest officials spotted the the sick female elephant during patrolling in the forest yesterday. A calf aged around one-and-a-half-years was also found near the elephant. The forest officials soon began treatment of the ailing elephant.

During treatment, the pachyderm was administered 30 salines, vitamins and anti-biotics. However, it succumbed to the illness today,  informed Satkosia Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ramaswamy P.
