Air Quality Index: 3 Odisha towns more polluted than Delhi, Mumbai

Bhubaneswar: The air quality at three urban areas in Odisha was declared as poor by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) today.

The air quality at Baripada, Cuttack and Nayagarh in Odisha was categorised as poor by the CPCB in its Air Quality Index (AQI) today.

The AQI value was 206 at Baripada, 215 at Cuttack and 244 at Nayagarh, said the CPCB data.

As per the CPCB, the air pollution at the above three urban areas in Odisha is more alarming than that of metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

The AQI value was 140 at Delhi and 69 at Mumbai today.

People may develop breathing discomfort due to prolonged exposure to poor quality air, said the CPCB.
