AirAsia to run daily Bhubaneswar-Kuala Lumpur flights soon. Know schedule

Bhubaneswar: In a good news for air travellers in Odisha, Malaysia-based low-cost airline AirAsia has decided to launch daily direct international flights from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur from October 26 (Thursday).

This was confirmed by Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), Bhubaneswar Director Suresh Chandra Hota.

Official sources said the plane will take off at 11:55 PM.

The Malaysian low-cost airline was providing the service in the preliminary phase four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

On April 26,  AirAsia has added Bhubaneswar to the list of destinations in India with four weekly direct flights from Kuala Lumpur, making AirAsia Group’s 16th route into India.

The low-cost carrier, on February 17,  had signed a pact with the Odisha government for running direct international flights from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur.

Aireen Omar, CEO of the airlines, had then said that they started flights to enhance domestic connectivity between Bhubaneswar and other Indian cities.

AirAsia Group also connects Kolkata, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, New Delhi directly to Kuala Lumpur, and from Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi and Kolkata directly to Bangkok in Thailand.
