Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar today announced his upcoming film ‘Gorkha’ by sharing his first look from the upcoming film on his social media profiles.

The Khiladi of Bollywood will be seen portraying on the screen, the life of legendary war hero Major Ian Cardozo, who was the first war-disabled officer of the Indian Army to command a battalion and a brigade.

Sharing his first look from the film on social media, Akshay wrote, “Sometimes you come across stories so inspiring that you just want to make them. #Gorkha - on the life of legendary war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. Honoured to essay the role of an icon and present this special film.”

“Celebrating India’s 75th Independence Anniversary,” the poster of Gorkha reads.

The movie is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under the banner of Colour Yellow Production in association with Cape Of Good Films.  Further details regarding the star cast and the release date of the film are yet to be announced.
