Alert! Rain, lightning, thunderstorm in 16 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional center here has issued thunderstorm alert for as many as 16 districts across the state today.

As per the latest bulletin issued by the MeT centre, moderate thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at some places over districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda,Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri. The weather condtion is likely to prevail in these areas till 7.30 pm today.

Besides, gusty surface wind with speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph will prevail in the stations during the time, the weathermen added.
