Bhubaneswar: All women in Odisha will be included under the Subhadra scheme of the state government.

This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development (W&CD) Minister Pravati Parida today.

Earlier, the Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had approved a proposal to roll out the Subhadra scheme in the state within 100 days.

Under the scheme, every woman in the state will receive a cash voucher of Rs 50,000. The women can encash the vouchers within two years.

“The Odisha Cabinet has already given its approval for implementation of Subhadra scheme in the state. Details of the scheme are being drafted now. The scheme will be rolled out within 100 days. All women in the state will be benefitted under the scheme,” said Parida.

The Odisha government yesterday sought partial central funding to roll out the Subhadra scheme in the state.

Attending a pre-Budget consultation meeting convened by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo raised the issue.

Notably, Subhadra scheme was a key promise in the BJP manifesto for the 2024 Assembly polls in Odisha.
