All you need to know about Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik’s assets

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister’s wealth increased more than seven fold as compared to the last poll affidavit submitted by him during filing of nomination for the upcoming 2019 polls.

Naveen’s net worth increased from Rs 12.05 crore to Rs 86.90 crore in the last five years, the poll affidavit comparison said.

As per the affidavit, the immovable assets grew from Rs 11.88 crore to Rs 63.64 crore. Similarly, the movable assets rose from Rs 17.75 lakh to Rs Rs 23. 26 lakh.

The farm land of 22.7 acres at Tikri Khera in Faridabad inherited by him has been valued at Rs 10.75 crore as on March 31, 2017. It was Rs 3.43 crore as on March 31, 2011 (2014 poll affidavit).

Likewise, the house at Naveen Niwas has been valued at Rs 9.52 crore (as on August 18, 2017) as against Rs 8.45 crore (as valued before last election).

In addition to this, the house at APJ Abdul Kalam Road in New Delhi has been valued at Rs 43.36 crore (as on Sep 22, 2014), taking the sum total of immovable assets to Rs 63.64 crore.

On the other hand, the movable assets of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo stands at Rs 23, 26, 554 crore. This includes, Rs 25, 000 cash in hand, Jewelry, buttons of Rubies and diamonds in silver valued at Rs 2, 12, 252 and Rs 20 lakh in five bank accounts at New Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Hinjilikatu branches.

Interestingly, Naveen is yet to repay Rs 15 lakh loan availed from sister Gita Mehta.

In the assets list, Naveen has declared the Ambassador car (1980 model, Reg No OR 02A 7007) inherited from his father which has been valued at Rs 8905 which was earlier valued Rs 20, 000 during last poll affidavit.

Worth mentioning, Anand Bhawan – the ancestral property of the Patnaiks – at Cuttack which has been donated has been valued at Rs 9.52 crore which was Rs 2.80 crore in 2014.
