Bhubaneswar, May 12:
In an apparent attempt to tame discontentment amongst the leaders for not getting fair representation in the recent ministry reshuffle, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appointed Amar Prasad Satpathy as the chief whip of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
Amid voices of resentment over as many as a dozen districts being not represented, party supremo picked Barchana MLA putting speculations to rest.
Soon after the much-awaited ministry reshuffle on last Sunday, series of protests were held across the state and even various leaders putting their umbrage on record.
A visibly upset Sathpathy reportedly had a closed-door meeting with Debasish Nayak and Pramilla Mallik over no BJD leaders from Jaipur district being in the cabinet.
