Ambulance hits truck in Odisha’s Balasore; one dead, 2 critical

Balasore: An ambulance hit a truck on NH-16 near Dandakali Temple under Khantapada police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district today, killing a person and leaving two others critically injured.

The injured ones were admitted to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the mishap took place around 8 am when the ill-fated ambulance of a private hospital in West Bengal dashed against the road divider and hit a truck coming from the opposite direction.

Subsequently, driver of the truck lost control over the wheels while the vehicle rammed into a roadside cement godown, damaging it severely.

The ambulance driver died on the spot while the helper of the emergency vehicle and truck driver sustained grievous injuries.

On being informed about the accident, Khantapada police reached the spot, rescued the victims and admitted them to the hospital.
