Amid heatwave alert, 4 Odisha districts likely to experience heavy rainfall

Bhubaneswar: Though most part of Odisha is still reeling under the impact of heatwave, Regional Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in some parts of the state.

As per the midday weather bulletin, one or two places in Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Keonjhar may witness heavy rainfall.

Such weather condition is likely between 1 pm today and 8:30 am tomorrow, as per the forecast of weathermen.

On the other hand, areas in western part of Odisha, continued to boil under severe heat wave conditions with maximum day temperature hovering above 40 degree Celsius in as many as 10 places yesterday.

Furthermore, parts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Kandhamal, Balangir, Boudh, Kalahandi and Malkangiri will witness moderate thunderstorm/lightning accompanied by moderate rainfall with gusty wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph between 2.30 pm and 5.30 pm today.
