Amphan: Route of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar special train diverted

Bhubaneswar: In view of the impending Cyclone Amphan, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) diverted the route of Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar AC special train for four days.

In a statement, the ECoR said 02823/02824 Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar AC Special Train starting from Bhubaneswar from May 19 to 22 and starting from New Delhi from May 18 to 21 will run on diverted route via Bhubaneswar-Angul-Sambalpur City-Jharsuguda-Rourkela-Tata bypassing Bhadrak-Balasore-Hijli route.

The decision to divert the special train’s route has been taken for safety and security of both passengers and trains, the ECoR statement added.

Passengers going from and coming to Balasore/Hijli (Kharagpur) will not get service of this train for four days.

The ECoR further said it is keeping a watchful eye over developments related to the cyclone. Other information related to cyclone would be relayed from time to time, it added.
