Bhubaneswar: One of the Amrit Bharat Express trains flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ayodhya yesterday reached Bhubaneswar Railway Station today morning.

Lok Sabha MP Aparajita Sarangi and Rajya Sabha members Sulata Deo and Munna Khan were present to welcome the train at the station.

Two Amrit Bharat Express including Malda Town-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat via Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam and Six Vande Bharat Express were flagged off by Prime Minister on December 30. The trains recieved grand welcome at various stations.

In Odisha and Northern AP, the Malda Town-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express received a welcome with much fanfare amidst the rhythmic drum beats and traditional dance at Jaleswar, Balasore and Soro in South Eastern Railway jurisdiction and at Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur in Odisha. This train also witnessed grand welcome at Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam Railway Stations in Northern Andhra Pradesh under ECoR jurisdiction.

Public representatives joined the programme at Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam Railway Stations over ECoR jurisdiction to welcome the maiden run of indigenously built Amrit Bharat Express between Malda Town and Bengaluru. Students and Teachers from various Schools, Rail enthusiasts along with eminent personalities boarded the train and appreciated the amenities and safety features of the Amrit Bharat Express.

The train with all non-AC coaches will run daily from January 7.

According to reports, the Amrit Bharat Express train has 22 coaches, of these two are reserved for Railway guards. Of the remaining 20 passenger coaches, 8 coaches are second class unreserved with all advanced facilities including CCTV and well-furnished seats. The remaining 12 coaches are sleeper class reserved for passengers.

The train with 130 kmph speed will have stoppages at Jaleswar, Balasore, Soro, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road and Brahmapur railway stations in Odisha.

While the train fare from Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru has been fixed at Rs 432 per passenger for general compartment, the passenger has to pay Rs 782 for travel in sleeper class reserved coach.
