Anganwadi worker alleges rape by nephew; accused brings counter allegation

Pipili: In a bizarre  incident, an Anganwadi worker has leveled rape allegation against her nephew while the latter, in counter allegation, stated that the woman has been forcibly keeping physical relationship with him since a while.

The incident has been reported from Pipili area of Puri district.

The woman has lodged the complaint with Pipili SDPO and Puri SP in this regard seeking justice. Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Gop leader Shankar Bhoi threatened that thousands of women would take to streets if justice is not served to the Anganwadi worker.

However, the accused youth refuted the allegation. In counter statement, he alleged that the woman kept physical relationship with him without his consent several times and leveled the false charges against him when she got  to know about his marriage proposals. He also accused her of blackmailing.

Meanwhile, Balanga police has begun an investigation into the incident.
