Andhra quarry blast: Odisha CM announces ex-gratia for kin of deceased

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the family members of the three Odia labourers who died in a blast at a stone quarry in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district on August 3.

Wishing quick recovery of the injured Odia labourers, Patnaik announced that the State Government will bear the treatment expenses of the victims.

Notably, Bhima Nahak (56) of J.Radhagovindpur, Duryodhan Nahak and Manoranjan Nahak of Nuagaon under Rambha police limits in Ganjam district had died in the blast.

A two-member fact finding team from Odisha led by Ganjam district labour officer had visited Kurnool.
