Annual flower show kicks off at Ekamra Kanan in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Pradip Kumar Amat today inaugurated the Annual Flower Show-2023 at Ekamra Kanan in the capital city here.

The flower show is being organised by the Regional Plant Research Centre (RPRC) in Bhubaneswar.

Amat along with Rajya Sabha MP Sulata Deo and PCCF & Chief Executive of RPRC Pusazhula Mekro visited various flower displays, exhibition stalls and floral arrangements at Ekamra Kanan.

Amat released the Research and Activity Report 2021-22 of RPRC, launched e-Commerce Portal for nursery plants of RPRC and inaugurated the pop-up irrigation system installed in the compound.

The ‘Floral Gate’ erected at the entry point of the flower show is the central attraction of the event.

A total of fifteen firms and thirty nurseries have exhibited ornamental plants for display and sale through plant bazaars. The RPRC has organised the show in association with Plant Lovers’ Association, Bhubaneswar.

Association’s President Khirod Pattanaik, Secretary P. Srinibas, Administrative Officer Sushree Mohapatra, senior Scientists and flower lovers were present at the event.
