Bhubaneswar: Another 1,480 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the state's total caseload to 12,73,003, including 15,980 active cases. The new infectees include 334 in the age group of 0-18 years.
Yesterday, the state had reported 1,712 single-day infections.
Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 862 are quarantine cases and 618 local contacts.
Khordha district registered highest 163 fresh infections, followed by Sundargarh (139) and Cuttack (133).
Meanwhile, 21 more patients succumbed to the virus in the state talking the toll to 8,818.
