Another 390 COVID-19 patients recover in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Here’s is good news that another 390 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Odisha, informed State Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department today.

While the highest number of 106 recoveries was registered in COVID hotspot Gajam district, 71 patients recovered from Cuttack district and 38 each from Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh districts.

Similarly, Jajpur district recorded 25 recoveries followed by Nabarangpur district (24) and Sambalpur district (22).

Meanwhile, 15 patients have recovered from the disease in Khordha district, which has reported 76 new COVID cases in last 24 hours, 9 patients recovered from Balasore district, 6 from Bargarh district, 5 each from Angul, Kalahandi and Kendrapara districts, 4 each from Jagatsinghpur and Koraput districts, 3 each from Bhadrak, Boudh and Keonjhar districts and 2 each from Nayagarh and Puri districts.

With this, the total recovered cases in Odisha now stand at 8750 and the number of active cases dropped to 4,287.

Earlier in the day, 595 new positive cases were reported from 21 districts in last 24 hours taking the total count to 13,121 in Odisha. Of new cases, 394 cases have been detected from quarantine centres and 201 are local contacts.

The State also reported 5 fresh deaths, of which 3 were due to COVID-19 in Ganjam district. Another 2 COVID patients died due to other ailments in Khordha district and Bhubaneswar.
