Another farmer ends life over crop loss in Odisha

Bargarh: Another farmer ended his life over alleged crop loss due to pest attack and loan burden here this morning.

The deceased identified as Arjun Satnani had attempted suicide yesterday by consuming poison. He died while undergoing treatment in Bargarh hospital.

According to reports, the farmer had taken a loan amount of Rs 60,000 from Lakhanpur society for paddy cultivation.

After the crops were damaged due to drought and pest attack, Arjun was in the mental stress. He committed suicide on Saturday.

Notably, nearly 10 farmers have attempted the extreme step due to crop loss in the district this year.
