Another land grab case against ex-Odisha MLA Ramesh Jena

Odisha police today registered another land grab case against former Congress MLA from Sanakhemundi Ramesh Jena, his father and three of his associates.

Berhampur police today registered case at the Sadar Police Station against Jena, his father Arakhita Jena, Berhampur Municipal Corporation(BMC) corporator R Murali Mohan, a builder Buna Sahu and Kiran Panda on charges of forcibly grabbing four acres of Debottar land (land belonging to temples) in Nimkhandi and Borigaon and undertaking construction on the same.

“Ramesh Jena’s remand in the land grabbing case ends today, but in the meanwhile, another land grab case (case no. 62/16) has been registered against him at the Sadar Police Station. They have grabbed over four acres of land belonging to Raghunath temple. One Kishore, a trustee of the temple with Endowment Board has lodged the complaint. According to him, they have forcibly occupied a 30’x80′ area of land and have constructed a road on it. Jena, Arakhita Jena, R Murali Mohan, Buna Sahu and Kiran Panda have forcibly occupied the land and have already constructed a road on it.  There are also complaints of them grabbing Endowment Board’s land in other areas. We have moved the concerned authorities to investigate government and Endowment Board land grabbed by him in Nimkhandi, Borigaon and Purushottampur area,” said Asish Kumar Singh S P, Ganjam briefing reporters here today.

“We are makings arrangements to get Ramesh Jena on a fresh remand in connection with the above matter,” he added.
