Another low pressure likely; heavy rainfall forecast in Odisha from Aug 24

Bhubaneswar: Amidst the flood-like situation in several parts of Odisha, a fresh low pressure likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around August 24 may trigger heavy rainfall across the state.

The latest bulletin issued by the regional MeT centre says, “The well marked low pressure area over central parts of Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood moved away and now lies over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood. A fresh low pressure is likely to develop over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around August 24. ”

Under the influence of the low pressure, heavy rain may continue to lash several parts of the state between August 24 and August 26. Besides, squally wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph is likely to prevail over north Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha coast, the weathermen said.
