Another low pressure likely; Heavy rainfall to lash these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha may witness heavy rainfall in next three days as another low pressure is brewing over the Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast.

A cyclonic circulation lies over west­central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast and extends upto 3.1 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a low pressure Area is likely to form over westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast by tomorrow, said Bhubaneswar MeT today.

The regional meteorological centre issued yellow and orange warnings for many districts for next three days.

Day 1 (valid from Sept 12 afternoon to Sept 13 morning): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Nabarangpur.

Also, Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Khordha during the hours.

Day 2 (valid from Sept 13 morning to Sept 14 morning): Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Kalahandi, Gajapati and Nuapada.

Day 3 (Valid from Sept 14 morning to Sept 15 morning): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Kalahandi.

Besides, Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Nabarangpur in the next 24 hours. Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Khordha till tomorrow.
