Another low pressure in Bay likely to pound Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the southwest monsoon turned vigorous, more downpour is on the cards for Odisha as one more low pressure is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal this week.

According to Bhubaneswar MeT, another low pressure is likely over northwest Bay of Bengal around August 19.

Under influence of the possible low pressure, Odisha may receive heavy rainfall this week.

Meanwhile, the Depression formed over Bay of Bengal now lay centered over Northwest Chhattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh, about 20 km southwest of Pendra Road (Chhattisgarh), 170 km east of Mandla (Madhya Pradesh) and 220 km east of Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh). It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually during next 12 hours.

Under its impact, heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Jharsuguda in Odisha today till tomorrow morning.
