Another low pressure likely to form tomorrow, to head towards Odisha coast: IMD

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation over Myanmar coast and adjoining Gulf of Martaban is likely to move northwestwards and emerge into northeast and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region around September 24 evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards towards Odisha coast during the subsequent 48 hours, it said.

The Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued rainfall warning for several districts of Odisha in this connection.

Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.09.2021: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.09.2021: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and Ganjam.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Gajapati.
