Another minor girl found pregnant in Odisha’s Kandhamal

Daringbadi: Odisha’s Kandhamal district is once again in the news for wrong reasons as a 15-year-old girl has allegedly been impregnated by her relative in Brahmanigaon area.

As per a police complaint lodged by the father of the victim girl, a class-X student of a private english medium school in Jharsuguda, she had come to her village in Brahmanigaon area during puja vacation, last year.

The girl’s health condition deteriorated during the period and she was unable to go back to school. She was staying in the village since then.

Yesterday, she complained of uneasiness, following which her father took her to the Mohana hospital, where doctor revealed that she is six-months pregnant.

The kin of the girl have alleged that she was impregnated by her relative in the village. Police have started investigation into the incident after registering a case on the basis of the complaint.

It may be recalled here that a minor girl student had delivered a baby at a residential school in Daringbadi area of the district few days ago, which led to uproar across the state.
