Another Odisha Congress leader in BJD fold

Bhubaneswar: Yet another Congress leader deserted the party and joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) here this morning.

Along with over 150 supporters and several office bearers of Congress including Dibyakant Khuntia, Bijay Mahanta and Sonali Aparajita, Mayurbhanj Congress General Secretary Abhisek Patnaik joined the BJD in presence of party supremo Naveen Patnaik during a programme at Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar.

“I welcome them and their joining will strengthen the Biju Janata Dal,” the BJD chief said.

The Congress leader’s induction into Odisha’s ruling party came a day after second phase of elections in the State.
