The mystery shrouding the triple suicide in Paralakhemundi deepened today with the lone person rescued from the locked house succumbed at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Odisha’s Berhampur while undergoing treatment.

Santosh Patra alias Tulu was rescued from a house at Jangama Sahi in Paralakhemundi yesterday in a critical condition while other three siblings including the former manager of Paralakhemundi Maharaj Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb— Anang Manjari Patra— were found dead.

Santosh was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in a serious condition.

The investigators were trying to record the statement of Santosh at the hospital to uncover the mystery behind the deaths. However, the death has come as a blow as the eyewitness to the intriguing suicide has succumbed.

It may be mentioned here that police yesterday recovered the bodies of the siblings— Anang Manjari Para, Sanjay Patra and Bijaylaxmi Patra— from their house. The cops broke into the house after locals alerted police about foul smell emanating from the house bolted from inside.

The former manager and her brother Sanjay were accused of financial misappropriation pertaining to the property transactions of Parala Maharaj.
