Another UK returnee tests COVID positive in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Amid the spread of new strain of COVID-19 virus in United Kingdom (UK), a four-year-old child, who had returned to Odisha from the country on December 20, has tested positive for the virus here, an official of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said today.

However, the parents of the girl child have tested negative for the virus. The family members of the child have been kept under institutional quarantine as per norms.

Earlier, a 34-year-old man, who returned to Bhubaneswar from UK on December 18, had tested positive for COVID-19 at a private lab in the city. His swab samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune to ascertain the strain of the virus.
