Another UTP escapes from jail in Odisha

Nayagarh: Another undertrial prisoner escaped from a sub jail in Odisha just a day after a rape accused gave the Khandapada sub jail officials slip here in the district.

The escaped prisoner was identified as Himansu Nayak. He was lodged in Nayagarh sub jail following arrest in connection with a dacoity case three days back.

According to reports, the accused managed to flee from the prison between 9.30 am and 11.30 am on Sunday. A case has been lodged by the jailer Umesh Prasad Balabantray at Nayagarh Sadar Police Station.

He was today apprehended at his village Karabara and taken into police custody.

However, the escape of two undertrial prisoners in just two days raises lapses of security on premises of sub jails in Nayagarh district.
