Bhubaneswar: The police in Ganjam district of Odisha have arrested a woman teacher on charges of submitting fake educational certificates during her appointment.

The arrested has been identified as Latika Barad, a teacher in Podingi Shyamalai High School under Hinjili block in Ganjam.

“The educational certificates furnished by the woman teacher were found to be fake ones during verification some days ago. Hinjili Block Education Officer (BEO) had lodged a complaint in this regard with police. We have arrested the teacher and produced her in a local court after registering a case in this regard,” said a police officer.

Notably, the police had arrested a woman teacher of Bolangir district for submitting fake certificates to secure the job on August 10.

Mrunmayee Panda, a Hindi language teacher at Randa High School under Puintala block in Bolangiri, is accused of furnishing fake intermediate (Plus II) and Hindi Degree certificates at the time of her appointment.

Bolangir District Education Officer (DEO) Dhruba Charan Behera had lodged an FIR in this regard with police.
