Anti-extortion helpline for Odisha’s twin cities launched

Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP Abhay today launched an anti-extortion helpline–9938910000– for the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The dedicated helpline will receive complaints and information in connection with extortions in the two cities, the DGP said.

Citizens can lodge complaint or provide information through telephone call, WhatsApp, SMS, and Telegram app while their identities will be kept secret, the top cop said.

The Twin City Commissionerate Police has launched an anti-extortion drive namely ‘Dada Bati Ku Na’ (Say No To Extortion) to curb forcible collection of money from traders and businessmen by anti-socials in the two cities.

An anti-extortion task force will work under the supervision of Additional Police Commissioner Rekha Lohani. Quick Action Team (QAT) and the police officers of the Commissionerate Police will assist the anti-extortion task force.
