Bhubaneswar: Pegylated Interferon alpha-2b (PegIFN) and Casirivimab and Imdevimab (antibody cocktail) drugs will be available in Odisha for the treatment of COVID-19.
PK Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary to the Odisha Government, has written to Superintendents of all Medical Colleges and all CDM & PHOs in this regard.
“Following permission of DCGI to use Pegylated Interferon alpha-2b (PegIFN) & casirivimab and imdevimab under EUA, it has been decided that the drugs will be made available to the state for use by the prescribing physician strictly complying to the indication and requirement under EUA regulations,” the official said in the letter.
The drugs will be kept in stock at OSMCL and other selected distribution sites. These drugs will be issued against the requisition by the prescribing physician through Superintendent and CDM & PHO, he added.
