Anubhav-Varsha divorce case: Actress faces 185 questions in 2 hours as cross-examination ends

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actress Varsha Priyadarshini today appeared before a family court in Cuttack for final cross-examination in connection with a divorce case filed by her actor-turned-politician husband Anubhav Mohanty.

Varsha was asked around 180-185 questions during the cross-examination that lasted for two hours, sources said.

“The cross-examination of Varsha Priyadarshini was completed today. The actress was posed around 180-185 questions in two hours,” said Anubhav’s lawyer Lalitendu Mishra.

Varsha’s lawyer Asish Mishra, meanwhile, claimed that the actress was posed several irrelevant questions during the cross-examination.

“We have raised an objection in this regard and the court also took notice of it,” said Varsha’s lawyer.

Earlier, the Orissa High Court, in its July 13 order, had directed the family court to dispose the divorce case in a time-bound manner.

Anubhav had approached the HC on the plea that the hearing on the divorce case was getting delayed at the family court.

Notably, the star couple got married in 2014. Anubhav, who has been elected to the Lok Sabha from Kendrapara, had moved a Delhi-based court in 2020 seeking divorce.

The divorce case was shifted to a family court in Cuttack following the Supreme Court’s intervention.
