Anything for love! Cop elopes with his senior in Odisha

A police official hailing from a nondescript village in Odisha’s Keonjhar district today sneaked off with his lady love, barely hours prior to solemnizing of his marriage this morning.

The incident of a Constable eloping with woman Inspector has become the talk of the area.

The woman cop fell in love with his junior Pitambar Jena of Hatadihi village while she was posted as Sub Inspector at neighbouring Nandipada police station.

The cupid-struck man identified as Pitambar Jena who is posted at another police station was to get married to a girl from Karanjia in Mayurbhanj district. While the bride’s family was all prepared to conduct the marriage at Jhadeswar temple in Ghasipura, the groom’s family did not turn up raising suspicion in their minds.

The distraught family members reached Pitambar’s house only to find that he has run away with the woman police officer, reports said.

Following this, the aggrieved family members approached the Nandipada police station to register their grievances where they were taken aback to learn about the affair between the duo.

The woman cop was reportedly married to another person.
