Bhubaneswar: BJP Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi raised questions against ‘partisan approach’ of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in removal of New Year hoardings. Wring today to BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange, she vent her resentment against the civic body.

Earlier, the MP had a telephonic discussion with Commissioner Kulange in this regard.

“Hoardings had been put up by all of us conveying New Year Greetings to the residents of Bhubaneswar. Today is 10th January. I have been watching for the past couple of days, all the hoardings put up by the ruling Political Party have not been removed. The entire city is looking awful with these 'Green' Hoardings littering the skyline,” the MP alleged in her letter.

“Under what circumstances, the Enforcement Squad of BMC has adopted a partisan approach? Under whose instructions my hoardings have been removed and 'Green' hoardings have been allowed to remain?” Bhubaneswar MP questioned.

“You are a Government Officer and people expect a non-partisan approach from your office while dealing with matters pertaining to your job chart,” Aparajita expressed.

“I request you to issue appropriate instructions to the Enforcement Squad of BMC to remove all 'Green' Hoardings from all parts of the city as soon as possible. I have spoken to Commissioner of Police in this regard and he has assured of extending all support to you,” the MP said.

Worth mentioning, BMC has been imposing penalties for putting up unauthorised hoardings.

The civic body has slapped fine of Rs 50,000 on each violator for disfiguring the city’s beauty.
