Apply to RTOs for special permit for inter-state operations: Odisha STA to bus owners

Cuttack: The Odisha government today announced the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) will issue special permit to public service vehicles including stage and contract carriages for inter-state operations.

In an order, the Transport Commissioner-cum-Chairman of State Transport Authority (STA), Odisha stated application for special permits for inter-state operation will be filed at the RTO counter. The decision has been taken considering the volume of rush of stake holders at the STA office to get the special permit in view of the COVID-19 situation.

The RTOs has been delegated the power to issue the special permit in the same day as far as possible, the order stated. The RTO counters will continue to issue the special permit till the same is available in VAHAN application.

Earlier, the STA instructed to issue special permit up to 150 days during the year 2020 till December 31, 2020.
