Aradi Akhandalamani temple closed for devotees as servitor tests COVID-19 positive

Bhadrak: The Bhadrak district administration today imposed restriction on entry of devotees inside Akhandalamani temple at Aradi village from today after one servitor tested positive for COVID-19.

Bhadrak Sub-Collector Pitambar Samal said general darshan at the temple will be restricted from this noon till the evening on April 17. The servitor who has contracted the virus is under isolation.

However, daily rituals at the temple will be performed as usual by servitors, he said adding  that the temple and its surrounding will be sanitized and all other servitors will undergo COVID-19 test.

On the other hand, the temple servitors opposed the administration’s move and sat on a dharna on the temple premises this morning as a mark of protest.

Bhadrak district reported 28 and 34 positive cases yesterday and today, respectively.
