Architect Ranjit Behera appears before ED for grilling in Archana Nag case

Bhubaneswar: Architect Ranjit Behera today appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for grilling in blackmailer Archana Nag case.

The ED has summoned Behera, who had planned and designed the luxury house of Archana Nag, for questioning in money laundering case against the woman blackmailer.

Yesterday, the ED had grilled contractor Pabitra Patra, who had constructed Archana’s house in Bhubaneswar, for over 12 hours.

The central investigative agency is probing the money laundering case filed against Archana, her husband Jagabandhu Chand, their business associates Khageswar Patra and Shradhanjali Behera to trace the source of the money received by Chand couple.

On Monday, Archana was produced before a local court in Bhubaneswar for second time. After appearing before the court, she had denied allegation of receiving money from filmmaker Akshay Parija. She had questioned whereabouts of her associate Shradhanjali Behera and other so-called victims in the blackmailing and honeytrap case.

During her appearance, the ED had requested the court to take Archana on a 15-day remand. Hearing the case, the court granted the ED to take her on seven-day remand, sources said.

Archana is accused of extorting lakhs of rupees from politicians, businessmen and influential persons by blackmailing them with videos of intimate moments between her and them. Her husband Jagabandhu had alleged involvement in the offence.

The blackmailer was arrested following a complaint by Ollywood producer Akshay Parija.

According to the complaint, Archana was involved in a sextortion case. She demanded Rs 3 crore from Parija threatening him of making his objectionable videos and photographs with a woman public.
