Armed miscreants loot Rs 1.32 lakh cash from gas agency dealer in Odisha

Balangir: In a broad daylight heist, five armed miscreants looted Rs 1.32 lakh cash from the owner of a gas agency near Jharani bus stand  on Turekela-Kantabanji road in Balangir district yesterday.

Though victim Khirodh Meher lodged a complaint with Turekela police later in the day, no arrest was made till the last report was filed.

As per the complaint, when Meher was going to  a bank on his motorcycle to deposit the cash in the afternoon yesterday, the looters came  in two motorcycles and intercepted him near Jharani bus stand. Brandishing gun ad sharp weapons, they decamped with the cash. They also broke his mobile phone during the confrontation.

Following the FIR, an investigation has already begun from different angles. The culprits will be nabbed son, said police.
